Melanie is a seasoned General Manager of ESG and Sustainability with a wealth of expertise spanning more than 17 years in the resource sector. Her extensive background encompasses roles in both consulting and in-house management, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the industry.
Having successfully navigated diverse projects throughout her career, Melanie transitioned to the pivotal role of Corporate General Manager of ESG and Sustainability for Pembroke Resources. In this capacity, she holds responsibility for overseeing the Olive Downs Complex and other international assets, showcasing her strategic leadership and management skills.
Over the last six years, Melanie has been instrumental in spearheading Pembroke Resources' commitment to best-practice environmental management and fostering a robust ESG and sustainability approach. Her dedication to excellence has played a crucial role in positioning the company as a leader in sustainable practices within the resource sector.
Amber is an experienced General Counsel passionate about energy and resources, particularly coal mining projects. She deeply understands the legal issues relevant to large mining projects.
Her interest in mining and resources was first developed at Coalworks and Orpheus as a corporate lawyer and enhanced through her role at BHP Billiton Limited, where she was a specialist in the Energy Coal division.
Amber then joined Alinta Energy, managing the legal requirements for Alinta’s multiple power generation assets and projects across ANZ. This included negotiating power purchase agreements with various Tier 1 mining operators. Amber also helped support Alinta’s South Australian Leigh Creek Coal Mine operations.
In addition to her legal experience, Amber has benefited from regulatory and government experience, having worked for both the New South Wales Premier’s Cabinet and the House of Commons UK. Amber’s understanding of the internal workings of governments has helped her provide meaningful legal support to large mining projects.
Amber holds a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law, a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Economics (Social Sciences) from the University of Sydney.
